Ask ... & You Shall Receive.... ;)

So today I decided to do some yard work... & got in over my head.

My kids were off with their friends.  After taking my dog for a walk, I decided to take that time of solace to clean up the back yard a bit. I started to trim the grapefruit tree.  I started to trim this tree in my blue jeans and a t-shirt, but then realized how hot the day was getting.  I went in changed into my bikini.  After the change of clothing, thoughts of Jeff Foxworthy redneck jokes entered my mind as I was out there trimming that tree.  Even though I felt silly & I know I just may be sunburned doing yard work, I never had been able to just lay in the sun to get a tan.
When I was a kid,  and even now as an adult I just can't relax enough to just lay in the sun.  I wonder if I will ever slow down enough to do that?  I just don't think I have it in me.  I always was uncomfortable to just lay there soaking it up.  It seemed much better to be out swimming, or skiing to get my tan.  Although I share a love of reading with my mom, I just would rather do that reading in the comfort and cool of the shade and not the hot sun.  If I am going to bake, I would much rather get some chocolate brownies or cookies when done and not be burnt.  So even though it seemed odd to be working in the yard in my swim suit, at least no one was around to see me.
By the time my kids came to check in, I had already exhausted myself and my skin.  I had given up for the day.  I had gone inside to change back into my jeans and t-shirt.  I figured with my jeans on and my hiking boots I could stomp the green waste down.  While in changing clothes, I actually asked out loud... "wouldn't it be nice if someone could just haul this stuff away?"   Clearly I wasn't going to be able to fit any more in the can.
I heard a commotion out front and noticed a truck and trailer across the street.  I called my Mom to confirm if the people there were the same that actually do the work on our front yard.  She confirmed and I went right over to ask them if they were in fact the people I thought they were.  They were not.  I explained why I asked and the one guy I spoke with didn't think I was crazy at all.  These guys were happy to see the work I needed done and give me an estimate.  Talk about "ask and you shall receive"... I showed them the tree trimmings that I needed to have hauled away.   I gave them $10 and now my back yard is done!  They gave me their number for future yard work needs.  I respect that.  Thank you Benny (& your friend) (805) 878-2262 Benny does yard service & clean up.  He works in Santa Maria CA & the 5 Cities CA area.  Benny & his buddy saved my Saturday afternoon! :)  What a blessing that was!!
